ISH Student Lunch Fees for the 2024-25 School Year

For the 2024-25 school year, the monthly lunch fee for students in Pre-K through DP 2 is DKK 750. By enrolling in the lunch service, you authorise the addition of DKK 750 to your monthly school invoice. The lunch fee is billed from August through June, with no charge in July.

Please note that the lunch fee is calculated by dividing the total cost for the school year across the number of school days, resulting in a consistent monthly rate. This rate remains the same each month, even during school holidays. However, the fee for August is reduced to DKK 375.

The registration for the 2024-25 school lunch program is now open! If you would like to enroll your child in the lunch program, please sign up using the Student Lunch Service Enrollment Form.

Please note that students who were enrolled in the lunch service last school year have been automatically re-enrolled for the 2024-25 school lunch service. If your child is currently part of the lunch programme and you would like to continue the service, no action is needed.

School lunch is served from Monday to Friday at different times for the different grade levels. A general guideline of lunch times can be obtained from your child’s Homeroom (PYP) or Advisor (MYP) teacher. Please note that parents will need to provide a packed lunch for their child during class field trips, on half days (days when the school closes at 12:00) and on days when whole school outdoor events such as Olympics day and Motions Day occur. The school lunch service is offered for 10 months from September until June. 

It is crucial that you share any allergies and dietary requirements with us. If your child has any allergies, please contact our school lunch team at the email lunch@ish.dk before signing up. The school lunch team will then be able to confirm if the lunch service can cater to your child’s needs. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate students with severe food allergies and therefore, students with severe food allergies (including severe nut allergy) should not use the lunch service.

The school lunch is prepared at the Hellerup campus and is delivered to the High School campus daily. 

You can cancel your lunch subscription at any time during the school year. Upon cancellation, you will be charged for the current month plus an additional 30 days. Please use the cancellation form linked below.

At ISH, we take pride in offering a healthy and nutritious lunch service for our students. Our school lunch service is available to all students; however, there are special conditions and terms for Pre-K students based on Danish Law. According to the law, students in this age group, when part of a school or børnehave, must either all participate in the lunch option or none should partake.

We conduct a vote among parents in the Pre-K classes every second year to determine their preference regarding school lunch for their children. During this vote, parents are asked to indicate if they would like their Pre-K child to receive the school lunch. If the majority of parents choose to sign up for lunch, all students will be required to participate. Conversely, if the majority does not sign up for lunch, then none of the children will be able to receive the lunch option.

The most recent Pre-K lunch vote was held in the autumn term of 2024. A majority of parents voted in favor of making the school lunch service mandatory for Pre-K students. As a result, the lunch service will be mandatory in Pre-K classes until the next vote, scheduled for November/December 2026.

Students with dietary restrictions

Regarding students with dietary restrictions, certain exemptions may apply to the Pre-K lunch service. Please take note of the following guidelines:

1. Students with pre-existing dietary restrictions (such as allergies or religious considerations) that were communicated to the school during enrollment, via the admissions enrollment form, may be excluded from the Pre-K lunch service without requiring a doctor's note to confirm the allergy.

2. If a family wishes to exclude their child from the Pre-K lunch service due to a food allergy but did not inform the school about the allergy during enrollment, they must provide a doctor's note to confirm the child's food allergy. The cost of obtaining the doctor's note is the responsibility of the parents and is non-refundable. Once the school receives the doctor's note, the child will be exempted from the lunch service, and the family will be reimbursed for any accumulated lunch fees.

• Should our cook be sick or absent, ISH will ensure that lunch is still served. On these days, the menu may not be as rich as usual, but we will do our utmost to maintain a good standard.
• The school is unable to refund school lunches missed by students due to illness or any other reason.
• On occasions where students who are not signed up for the lunch program do not bring lunch to school, the student will be offered a meal from the school lunch buffet, and the parents/guardians will be charged 50kr for the meal with the next invoice.
• On special days when school is over at 12:00 and lunch is not offered, students participating in the After School Care Program (ASCP) are asked to bring a packed lunch from home. If the family does not provide a lunch, the student will be offered a meal from the teacher's lunch buffet, and the parents/guardians will be charged 50kr for the meal with the next invoice.
• Parents are responsible for providing a water bottle, a packed lunch, and cutlery for their child daily if their child is not signed up for the lunch service. Please note that ISH is not able to provide cutlery or cups for students who are not signed up for the lunch service.
