Fastelavn Celebrations

Our primary and middle school students had a brilliant time at today’s Fastelavn celebrations! Students came dressed in wonderful costumes, sang traditional Danish songs, and each class got their turn to participate in the highlight of the day - attempting to break open the candy-filled barrel in the traditional ’slå katten af tønden’ game.

The canteen buzzed with excitement as the barrels finally gave way, rewarding everyone’s efforts with the treats inside. The day wasn’t just about fun - students also connected this experience to their Danish language learning, discussing the cultural significance of Fastelavn traditions.

Everyone enjoyed the tasty Fastelavnsboller provided by our Danish department, who did an amazing job organizing this special cultural event.
