MUN Club Hosts Cake & Debate Event

MUN Club Hosts Cake & Debate Event

Our Model UN club recently hosted a fun Cake & Debate event. MUN press officer Iris shares the details of this enriching experience:

"On Thursday, April 10th, the MUN club hosted a successful Cake & Debate event, welcoming delegates from CIS to join. The atmosphere was super fun and engaging, filled with thoughtful contributions, compelling speeches, and active participation.

The topic of the debate was "The Restitution of Historical Artifacts". Delegates explored the complex and often controversial issue of looted cultural property throughout history, and the international efforts led by UNESCO and other bodies to facilitate the return of these artifacts to their rightful owners. The debate addressed the tension between cultural heritage preservation, legal limitations, and the global impact of restitution policies, which overall emphasized the need for stronger international cooperation and fair legal frameworks.

The room was full of energy as students tackled global issues professionally and enthusiastically, showcasing their public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking skills. The debates were not only engaging but also encouraged collaboration and mutual respect among participants from different schools.

Overall, it was a fun and educational experience for everyone involved, which sparked meaningful discussions and focused on intercultural understanding through diplomacy and dialogue."
