PYP Curriculum

We facilitate purposeful learning for our primary school students through the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP offers a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based and student-centered education with responsible action at its core, enabling students to learn between, across and beyond traditional subject boundaries.

Units of Inquiry

Learning in the Primary Years Programme is guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance:

  • Who we are
  • Where we are in place and time
  • How we express ourselves
  • How the world works
  • How we organize ourselves
  • Sharing the planet

These units of inquiry are explored using knowledge and skills derived from the main subject areas of languages, mathematics, social studies, science, arts, and personal, social and physical education as well as transdisciplinary skills with an emphasis on inquiry. IB Learner Profile

At the heart of our curriculum framework is the IB Learner Profile. Our curriculum and our advisory programmes are designed to guide students to develop their IB learner profile attributes. Through learning engagements, regular reflections and opportunities to take action, our student grow to become people who:

  • Care
  • Think
  • Inquire
  • Reflect
  • Communicate
  • Take risks

and are:

  • Knowledgeable
  • Balanced
  • Principled
  • Open-minded
