MYP 5 Personal Project
The MYP personal project is an inspiring culminating project where students consolidate their learning gained through the 5-year programme. This long-term project is designed as an independent learning experience of approximately 25 hours outside of the classroom. Students explore a personal interest and set learning goals towards a product that they create. They have complete choice and agency to decide their path and are supported by supervisors throughout their learning journey.
The personal project formally assesses students’ Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, being self-management, research, communication, critical and creative thinking, and collaboration. The personal project encourages students to practise and strengthen their ATL skills, to connect classroom learning engagements with personal experience, and to develop their own interests for lifelong learning.
Ultimately, the MYP personal project serves as one of the final MYP assessments and is the ideal preparation for the IB Diploma Programme.
In the 10 minute documentary below, created by our head of Design, Mr. Quinn, you will hear from students, teachers and parents and share in the MYP 5 experience at the International School of Hellerup.
